Our Fees

Our fees and what they include

Brilliant Beginnings enables surrogacy arrangements by supporting intended parents and surrogates through a number of services. As of 2019, our fees for our UK services are.

UK Matching and Management - £12,750 plus VAT payable in the following instalments:
  • £750 plus VAT on application.
  • £6,000 plus VAT when we have received your application and have a surrogate or potential match for you.
  • £6,000 plus VAT when you are at the final stage of your agreement with your surrogate.

The application fee enables us to get to know you and your special circumstances in detail through an in-depth meeting, and put you formally on our radar for a potential match. The remaining two instalments fall due if we identify a potential surrogate match for you, and cover screening and support for surrogate candidates, and our matching and professional support services to you and your surrogate throughout the treatment and pregnancy. Our fees also include legal advice, provided to intended parents by our sister organisation NGA Law, and to our surrogates by an independent solicitor. All our fees are charged on a non-profit basis to cover our costs.

UK Surrogacy Support - £8,000 plus VAT, payable in the following instalments:
  • £4,000 plus VAT on application.
  • £4,000 plus VAT when you reach an agreement with your surrogate

Our fee covers the cost of screening and supporting a surrogate you have already identified, supporting the match through to the birth, and providing professional support to you throughout the treatment and pregnancy.

It also includes the following third party expenses; criminal records checks, surrogacy preparation counselling for your surrogate (provided by a BICA accredited counsellor), legal advice and support for you (provided by NGA Law solicitors) and independent legal advice for your surrogate (provided by an independent solicitor).

UK Surrogacy Support (Friends and Family) - £4000 plus VAT.

This service is available for intended parents who are working with a surrogate who is an existing friend or family member.

Our fee covers surrogacy preparation discussions with (separately) you and your surrogate and her partner, a template surrogacy written agreement to help facilitate your discussions, and a mediated Agreement Meeting with all parties together to discuss the issues which need to be considered. The fee also includes legal advice for the intended parents provided (by NGA Law solicitors) before the Agreement Meeting.

Going abroad for surrogacy

Many intended parents go abroad to find their surrogate and there are a number of destinations that offer regulated surrogacy including the US, Canada, Georgia, Ukraine and Greece. There are other unregulated destinations that are evolving and should be approached with caution. The US is the most established destination, and Canada also has a robust legal framework (although matches are managed differently than the US).
